
The Landing Market, Decorah, is once again hosting a fundraiser to support the people of Ukraine, commemorating the 4th anniversary of the full-scale invasion by Russia in 2022. The event is planned for Sun., Mar. 29, 11 am- 7 pm.
A simple Ukrainian meal of a smoked Ukrainian-style brat in a bun from Kramarzcuk’s Sausage Co. in Minneapolis and potato salad will be available for $15. Over-and-above contributions are welcome. The meal will be served 11 am-7 pm or until gone.
Sara Kuboushek, local master Pysanka artist, will lead Ukrainian Easter egg (Pysanky) painting workshops at noon and 4 pm. All materials are provided. Suggested donation is $20. Space is limited to 20 people per workshop, and registration is required by emailing bazyma01@luther.edu.
In addition, Ukrainian Easter Bread (Paska) in limited quantities will be available for purchase. A silent auction of premium items from Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains as well as smaller souvenirs for freewill donation will also take place.
All proceeds will benefit Ukrainian volunteers who support civilians and soldiers on the frontline. The event is organized by Ukrainian native and Luther College Professor of Anthropology Maryna B. Nading and her husband, Scott.
The Landing Market, located at 211 College Dr., in Decorah, opened in July 2020 as a food hall and community gathering spot.
