The Highlands Plant Sale Funds New Gardens

The Highlands, an Aase Haugen Community, will host Plantpalooza on Saturday, May 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (or until sold out) at its new campus, 607 Highland Drive in Decorah.

This community plant sale will bring together residents, staff, volunteers, master gardeners, and local partners. A variety of plants and seedlings—including plants grown by residents—will be available through free will donations. All proceeds will support The Highlands Garden Fund, helping enhance and maintain outdoor spaces for residents, families, and visitors.

Plantpalooza also honors a long-standing gardening tradition rooted in Aase Haugen’s history, where flower beds and gardens brought beauty and comfort to daily life. As a newly opened campus, The Highlands is working to transform its outdoor areas into welcoming, vibrant spaces that promote connection, relaxation, and well-being.

Community members are encouraged to attend, support the cause, and help grow something meaningful together. Those interested in donating plants or seedlings can contact Erica Dahl at 563-277-0356 or activities@highlands.org.
