Northeast Iowa Council Announces New Board Members

(Dubuque, IA.) –– Scouting America, Northeast Iowa Council, is pleased to announce the appointing of three outstanding community leaders to its Executive Board. These individuals were officially voted in at the Council’s Annual Meeting on April 24. Their diverse backgrounds and dedication to youth development will further strengthen the Council’s mission to deliver exceptional Scouting experiences across the region.

Cody Austin
Cody is the Land Development Team Leader and a Civil Engineer at Origin Design in Dubuque. A resident of Hazel Green, WI, Cody and his wife Melanie are proud parents to Isabella, Fox, and Michael—an Eagle Scout. Cody actively serves as Assistant Scoutmaster and Advancement Chair for Troop 775 in Cuba City. He also mentors students as a coach for a high school robotics team. Cody holds an engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville.

Nicole Sutton
Nicole is a Personal Lines Insurance Specialist at Kunkel & Associates in Dubuque. She lives in Maquoketa, IA with her husband Evan and their twin sons, Landon and Sterling. Nicole is currently the President of the Young Professionals of Dubuque and a member of the Women’s Leadership Network. She is a graduate of Beckman Catholic High School and attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids.

Brent Beyer
Brent is a Business Professor at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, IA. He resides in Waukon, IA with his wife Denise and their two children. His son Brady is an Eagle Scout and Assistant Scoutmaster. Brent has served in numerous Scouting roles, including Tiger Leader, Assistant Den Leader for Pack 64, and Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 64. He is also active in his community, having served as Past President of the Allamakee County Community Foundation. Brent holds degrees in economics and management from Simpson College and an MBA from the University of Iowa.

In addition to welcoming new board members, the Northeast Iowa Council is proud to announce its newly elected officers for the coming term. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and leadership to guide the Council’s strategic direction and support its mission.

Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) has 248 Councils nationwide. The Northeast Iowa Council serves 1,309 young men and women in six counties in Iowa and Illinois.  The Council, supported by more than five hundred volunteers, is headquartered in Dubuque, IA.
