The Landing is hosting for a FREE talk by author Carson Faust about his new Native American southern gothic novel “If the Dead Belong Here” (Viking, 2025) on Tues., Nov. 18. This special opportunity is part the Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month celebration at Luther College.
Faust is two-spirit and an enrolled member of the Edisto Natchez-Kusso Tribe of South Carolina. He is the recipient of fellowships from the McKnight Foundation and the Jerome Foundation. His fiction has appeared in “Never Whistle at Night: An Indigenous Dark Fiction Anthology.” He lives in Minnesota.
A book signing will follow his presentation and Q&A session. Books will be available for purchase with support from Dragonfly Books.
The event also includes the option to take part in a community meal of indigenous-inspired soup and bread starting from 5-7 pm. Cost for $10/$5 for college students (with ID) from any college or university and for children 17 and younger. No reservations are needed.
